Winter in Kansas…sometimes cold and icy with occasional snow. Other times warm. Our weather is unpredictable. One of our favorite weather slogans is…”Just stick around, it will change.” It is changing again, and we will experience ice changing to snow…4-6 inches. The best way to handle change? Gratitude. When life hands me change, I change to an attitude of thanks giving. I start looking for the gifts. The gifts are everywhere, and they are always free. After all, who pays for a gift? This scavenger hunt results in surprises, sometimes taking my breath away. My life has changed. Instead of worry, I am playing a game, the Game of Gifts. The winner of the Game of Gifts, ME! It can be you, if you choose to play. It’s easy. Step outside of your comfort zone, look for the gifts, give thanks. The prize? Peace.
My gift from the last winter storm.
Thank You for ice that shines in the dark, electricity, a coat that keeps me warm, but most of all… the child who lives inside of me…looking for the next gift and adventure.
I am just living the moment. Looking for His gifts. Giving thanks.
